Central Systems in Strategic Agreement with Belgravium

Central Systems & Automation, provider of leading warehouse management and control solution Autostore, today announced it has established a strategic partnership with Belgravium, the manufacturer of rugged mobile communications devices. Central Systems will now offer its manufacturing and logistics customers a complete radio frequency (RF) communications solution - based on Belgravium's high quality terminals - to streamline fulfillment and distribution operations.

Central Systems' and Belgravium's combined, RF-enabled warehouse management solution is proven to increase profitability and customer satisfaction significantly through enhanced accuracy and efficiency in the warehouse.

Although the two companies have prior experience of working together on various warehouse automation projects (including Great Bear Distribution), the formal agreement is particularly gratifying for Belgravium as Central Systems has extensive experience of most of the major RF vendors.

Andrew McKaig, commercial director at Central Systems comments: "We have worked closely with many RF manufacturers over the past decade or so. Obviously it's important to us that the hardware component of a warehouse automation project matches the inherent performance and reliability of our Autostore software. Belgravium's rugged hand-held and truck-mounted RF terminals present warehouse staff with real-time instructions direct from the Autostore warehouse management system, such as:

  • Goods-in procedures
  • Pick assignments
  • Put-away instructions
  • Replenishment duties

When these activities are completed, the RF terminals immediately provide data back to Autostore for real-time inventory management.
