Stock that's bonded for Customs & Excise requires additional system checks and validation on receipt and extra Customs-specific despatch documents for movements to other bonded depots and/or customers.
For UK-based operations only, the Autostore Customs & Excise Module indicates bonded stock and destinations with a special bonded flag against its item code.

Special handling upon receipt ...
All receipts of bonded stock will prompt your operators in the Goods-in area for confirmation that the goods are supplied with the appropriate customs documentation. To receive bonded stock, an operator with the right authority level must enter the 'Reference Number' of the accompanying customs documentation (from Box 3 on accompanying W8 or AAD document) in the Customs Documentation column of the receipt header. A special user action will record all details of this action. The operator must take responsibility for checking that the documentation exists, is physically filed in the correct place and indicates the correct stock.
Special handling of returns ...
Returns from customers where the destination location is not bonded will be exempt from this check as it is assumed the stock is still under the originating warehouse's ownership (ie not yet Proof of Delivery processed). If the return is from a bonded customer the original customs despatch documentation reference should be entered instead.
Special Customs dispatch documentation ...
When bonded stock is despatched to another bonded location in the EU, an extra customs despatch document is printed conforming to Customs Standards. This will be a W8 document if despatch is within the UK (EU Destination Code GB), or AAD if within the EU. For the despatch of any bonded stock to a location that is not in the EU, a C88 document is created which is partially completed, and will need further completion by an authorised person.
