Stock that's bonded for Customs & Excise requires additional system checks and validation on receipt and extra Customs-specific despatch documents for movements to other bonded depots and/or customers. For UK-based operations only, the Autostore Customs & Excise module indicates bonded stock and destinations with a special bonded flag against its item code. Ensuring accuracy, simplicity and easy Customs & Excise compliance, Autostore Customs & Excise processes include:
Special handling upon receipt...
All receipts of bonded stock will prompt your operators in the Goods-in area for confirmation that the goods are supplied with the appropriate customs documentation. To receive bonded stock, an operator with the right authority level must enter the 'Reference Number' of the accompanying customs documentation.
Special handling of returns...
Returns from customers where the destination location is not bonded are exempt from this check as it is assumed the stock is still under the originating warehouse's ownership (ie not yet Proof of Delivery processed).
Special Customs dispatch documentation...
When bonded stock is despatched to another bonded location in the EU, an extra customs despatch document is printed conforming to Customs Standards. For the despatch of any bonded stock to locations outside the EU, the system will automatically prompt for additional authorisation.
