The Autostore Yard Management Module (YMM) monitors and controls the entry and exit of vehicles on a site. This ensures that the yard is secure, eradicating errors and ensuring that the right goods are on the right wagons.
Autostore issues all movement instructions to the radio data terminals assigned to yard duty and also controls the issue of ad hoc physical move requests required as part of users' day-to-day interaction with the yard plan.
In addition to the simple, user-driven configuration screens, Autostore YMM covers:
- In-gate operations: all vehicles arriving at site are booked in at the gatehouse, using the Yard > Ingate screen. Each vehicle will be of a certain TPU (transport unit) type, dependant on the configuration set up.
- Out-gate operations: once Loaded the vehicle is ready to process for Despatch. From Loaded by clicking the status button the status of the load can be progressed to:
- Off Loading Bay: this will make the loading bay the trailer was loaded at available for another trailer (the loading RDT can confirm the doors closed when loading is complete to change the load status). From here, the status can be moved on to Sealed or directly to Despatched.
- Sealed: where the seal numbers applied to the trailer can be recorded. From here the status can be moved on to Despatched.
- Despatched: will confirm the load despatched from the warehouse. This does not despatch the vehicle from site - vehicles are booked off site through the Outgate screen.
The confirmed completion of the load back to the host system can be configured to take place at any of the following status types: Loaded, Off Loading Bay, Sealed or Despatched.
- Yard Plan: clear and easy-to-follow graphical representation shows a graphic display of the yard locations, displaying details of the transport units occupying the locations.
- Easy Location: to find a specific location or transport unit, just click Find on the Find menu option. Then enter the search criteria in the pop up box and click OK. By placing the cursor over a transport unit/location and right clicking - a menu will appear that enables you to carry out enquiries/actions where appropriate.
